Providing an elegant, neoclassical education... Knowledge is power...
      Knowledge is happiness...
--Thomas Jefferson

Monticello School honors talent and ability across all disciplines and believes such talents must be encouraged and developed. For that reason Art, Music, Theatre Arts and Sports are included as part of our curriculum...they are not regarded as extra-curricular. Furthermore all of these activities are included in the tuition...No extra or hidden charges!!

Since we are located in the heart of the beautiful Santa Clarita Valley, surrounded by tranquil ranch country, it is only natural that many of our students are avid equestrians. We are very happy to provide equestrian activities that include horse back riding lessons and the development of horsemanship skills at Monticello. Through a partnership with Wildwood Canyon Equestrian Center, Monticello students are able to enjoy these classes as a component of our Physical Education program. Students spend several hours weekly at Wildwood Ranch. Beginning in Fall of 2010, students will participate in Interscholastic Equestrian Association activities and competitions.

We at Monticello regard ourselves as an "Arts Emphasis" school. Along with Art and Music Appreciation classes, Monticello School students enjoy drawing, painting and sculpture lessons; they learn to read music, to sing, to dance and to play instruments. They participate in professional theatrical productions and produce their own films; and all of this is accomplished under the guidance of tremendously talented and experienced Professional Artist Instructors.

In addition to the Equestrian Program, our exciting and fun filled sports program includes tennis lessons, gymnastic lessons, ice skating lessons, horseback riding lessons, and golf lessons provided by enthusiastic, talented and experienced Sports Pros. Monticello is a member of the SCV Private Schools League and participates in league competitions.

Monticello students are actually transported off campus so that their Arts and Sports programs are presented in a setting that best suits the activity. For instance, Equestrian lessons take place at Wildwood Equestrian Center. Golf lessons take place at Vista Valencia Golf Course. Monticello students receive the very best lessons available. These are the same lessons that can be quite expensive when taken seperately from Monticello. Yet, these classes are included as Physical Education and Arts classes at Monticello at no additional cost to parents.
